Terracotta, klinker, face bricks

Terracotta floors and cladding represent a point of reference for an architectural style that embraces different areas and surroundings, but which all have in common a strong reference to the nature and the countryside. However, the many varieties of terracotta materials used have the characteristic of being very porous and absorbent.

For their correct cleaning and maintenance, it is necessary to use specific detergents that can remove with ease post installation grout haze and residues, rust and limescale build ups and dirt and grime. To protect and to maintain these surfaces, it is highly recommended to use water and oil repellents or specific protective solutions. For on-going maintenance, we highly suggest using specific surface polishes and waxes and maintenance solutions studied for the materials.

Clinker tiles, with an appearance similar to terracotta, are a material composed of a mixture of water and precious clay forms subjected to a particular maturing and drying process that culminates in over 30 hours of baking at very high temperatures reaching 1,250°C. Today the Clinker is considered one of the most durable, resistant, dense and water-repellent flooring solutions available. Using specific products for the post installation clean up and neutral or alkaline based detergents is highly important for the daily cleaning.

Exposed brick walls or facing bricks are a rough material without plaster or surface coatings. For outdoor applications and use, protect with specific water repellent solutions for surface protection.
