Acidic based, “antique effect” and aging process for honed, tumbled, rough marble and natural stone
SAND PLUS
Concentrated acidic-based solution formulated to create an antique or aged effect on marble, limestone, and other calcium-based natural stones. With the use of buffered acids, SAND PLUS chemically produces an “orange peel” texture on the surface, giving the material an aged, weathered appearance by modifying its structure. Highly recommended for stones such as; Perlino, Trani, Rosso Verona, Rosa Asiago, Travertine, and Biancone, as it enhances the natural colour and features. A time saving alternative to mechanical or traditional surface treatments, SAND PLUS offers an easy way to achieve an antique finish without the need for particular tools and machinery. The product does not leave surface marks or shadows.
Method of use :
ALWAYS TEST PRODUCT FIRST following the below indications, before proceeding with the complete product application. Ensure that surfaces to be treated are completely dry, free of dirt, dust, grime and surface incrustations. Cover and protect all surrounding areas before proceeding with application. Allow adequate ventilation when using. Product will release fumes that will react with glass, metal or aluminium taps. Wear adequate face mask and protective gear as indicated in material safety data sheet. Do not allow product to dry on surface. Product ready for use. Apply SAND PLUS evenly on the stone to be treated, allowing a contact time of 10-15 minutes. During this time, product will react with the calcium creating a foam on surface. Allow product to react with the material. Treat small areas at time. When the reaction is completed, add water to surface and remove all residues. Reapply until the desired effect is obtained. Procced to rinse/scrub surface using a solution of water and ULTRA STRIPPER (using a dilution ratio of 1:3) so to effectively neutralize the acidic reaction. Rinse using clean water, remove and allow material to dry completely.
Coverage:
1kg of product is for 2-3m² depending on the material, texture and porosity of the surface.
